On September 22, the Symposium on the Achievements of Agricultural Mechanization in China was held in Beijing to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. Liu Min, Director-General of the Bureau of Organs and Services of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Areas, read out a speech carefully prepared by Zhang Baowen, Vice-Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Twelfth National People's Congress, for the symposium. In his speech, Zhang Baowen pointed out that in the past 70 years, China's agriculture, including agricultural mechanization, has made remarkable achievements. These achievements are not easy to come by. They not only embody the revolutionary spirit of the Communist Party of China leading the Chinese people to try and explore bravely, but also embody the undertaking of all agricultural mechanics to innovate bravely and forge ahead steadily. These are our precious spiritual wealth, which deserves a good summary. On the occasion of celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, it is of great historical and practical significance to review the history of the development of agricultural mechanization, sort out its achievements and summarize its successful experience.

 

In his speech, Zhang Baowen pointed out that under the overall deployment of the CPC Central Committee, the structural reform of the supply side of agriculture in China has been pushed forward day by day and the results have been enriched day by day. On the basis of ensuring national food security, it has promoted the transformation of agriculture from over-reliance on resource consumption to pursuit of green ecological sustainable development, and has taken a road of modern agricultural development with high output efficiency, product safety, resource conservation and environmental friendliness. It has also put forward a brand-new topic for agricultural mechanization.

 

Zhang Baowen stressed that this year marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of New China, the decisive year for the "two hundred years" goal, and the key year for the comprehensive opening up of a new round of reform and opening-up and the second round of structural reform on the supply side. I hope comrades will not forget their minds, bear in mind their mission, and profoundly learn and comprehend the rich connotation of general secretary Xi Jinping's important exposition of "vigorously promoting agricultural mechanization and intellectualization". In light of the large number of cases, historical facts and reflections in reading this book, we should constantly update our ideas and work hard, step by step to promote the reform and opening up of agricultural mechanization, promote the development of Agricultural Mechanization in China, and help rural revitalization. Li Anning, deputy director of the Agricultural Mechanization Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Areas, delivered a speech entitled "Looking back on Achievements and Accelerating Agricultural Mechanization at a New Historical Starting Point".

 

 

 

During the discussion session, Song Shuyou, former vice-minister of the Ministry of Agriculture and head of the discipline inspection team of the Central Discipline Commission in the Ministry of Agriculture, Liu Hengxin, Secretary of the Party Committee, Hu Leming, chief editor of the Agricultural Press, Wang Jinren, director of the Agricultural Machinery Development Center of Shanxi Province, member of the Party Group of the Agricultural Rural Department of Guangxi and member of the Guangxi Agricultural and Rural Department, was the head of the Agricultural Mechanization Technology Development and Extension Stati Leaders such as Wei Zhoufan, director of Agricultural Mechanization Service Center, conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions on the theme of "reviewing development achievements and looking forward to a better future".

 

Liu Xian, president of China Association of Agricultural Mechanization, summarized the results of the conference.

 

The conference also held a series of think tank products, such as "40 years, we have gone through this way: collection of excellent works for articles in commemoration of the 40th anniversary of the reform and opening-up of agricultural mechanization", "Selected Articles on Agricultural Mechanization Research (2018)" and a number of group standards, etc. A series of products were released, and "advanced units of public welfare of agricultural machinery" and "advanced individuals of public welfare of agricultural machinery" were commended for their outstanding performance in poverty alleviation work. The opening ceremony of the Work Committee of agricultural machinery safety Mutual Insurance of China Association of agricultural mechanization; the preparatory meeting of the professional committee of conservation tillage of China Association of agricultural mechanization was held.
